Honoring Veterans and First Responders

At Amstill Roofing, we’ve always believed that a roof is more than shingles and nails. It’s protection, security, and peace of mind for the families underneath it. Since 1974, our family-owned business has been proud to serve the Houston area, providing high-quality roofing services built on integrity, reliability, and trust. Over the decades, we’ve grown alongside our community, helping neighbors weather storms, rebuild after hurricanes, and keep their homes strong.

But for us, success has never been measured only in the number of roofs installed. It’s also about how we show up for the people who make this community what it is. That’s why we feel our Free Roof Giveaway for Veterans and First Responders is so important. We believe businesses have a responsibility to give back to the communities that support them, and this program is one way we can say “thank you” to the men and women who sacrifice so much for others.

This year’s giveaway has four major phases. Here’s a look at where we are in the process:

Phase 1: Entry Period (August)

In August, we opened the doors for entries. Individuals could nominate themselves or someone they knew, a veteran or first responder, who could benefit from a new roof. Each entry reminded us why this program matters, highlighting the importance of recognizing and supporting those who serve our communities every day.

Phase 2: Finalist Selection (September – Current Phase)

In September, our team carefully reviewed every nomination. Narrowing down the list was no easy task, as each submission told the story of someone deeply deserving. We selected a group of finalists who best represented the spirit of service, sacrifice, and resilience.

Phase 3: Roof Inspections (October)

We’re currently in the inspection phase. Our team will be visiting each finalist to assess their roof’s condition and better understand their individual needs. These inspections not only ensure fairness in the process, but also allow us to see firsthand how meaningful a new roof would be for each household. This step is key as we move toward selecting a winner, ensuring the decision is rooted in both need and impact.

Phase 4: Roof Installation (November)

Next month, we’ll be announcing the winner and installing a brand-new roof at no cost. For one veteran or first responder, it will be more than just a new roof, it will be relief, protection, and a tangible reminder that their community values their service.

Why Giving Back Matters

Since our founding in 1974, Amstill has stood for more than just business success. Our roots in this community run deep, and we’ve always believed that when you’re fortunate enough to thrive, you have a responsibility to give back. Veterans and first responders often put their lives on the line to protect others. Offering a new roof is our way of providing protection in return, a small act of gratitude compared to their daily sacrifices.

We also hope to inspire others, whether individuals, families, or local businesses, to look for ways to give back. Strong communities aren’t built by one person or one company; they’re built by neighbors looking out for each other.
